Oldish started years ago, the remnants and left-overs from previous albums, stashed away in an 'Ideas' folder, awaiting a rainy day when they would see the light and startle the ears.

I needed to get back to playing riffs, creating chord progressions, kicking out the jams, but I had next to no inspiration, and so in September 2022 I plunged into the 'ideas' folder to see what I could find.

Re-learning and then re-recording everything that sounded interesting or promising took a few weeks and laid the foundations of the finished albums.

Starting with 40 ideas, I quickly whittled these down into 20 rough songs, which over the next couple of months became the final 16. Although the run time of the 16 songs is just over an hour, I felt this many songs on one album was too much, so opted to split them across 2 albums, 8 songs on each. This is the first part of those albums.

The title Oldish refers to the old song ideas I had and how they were updated with new ones as I worked on them. Each song is about half and half, old and new. The title also refers to my age and how I'm kind of oldish myself haha.

Oldish was created between September and November 2022, with all stages of production and instruments by Christopher Jones.
